About Me

I moved off...I came back.  I love the small town we live in and where my husband and I are raising our boys. There is something special about running into people daily that you have known a lifetime.  It is a comfort...it is home.  

I strive to make our house a cozy home for my family which includes my husband,  two boys, a dog, and a cat.  I have a slight obsession with throw pillows.  I like to change things up seasonally and just because.  I try to rotate things I already own. In other words,  I shop my attic or closets first.  I love a good deal, but am not afraid to splurge on items that will be staples for years to come.  I love mixing vintage pieces with new ones.  I also like to use items in unexpected ways.  

I am an AVID Amazon shopper.  Living in a small town, it is not only convenient, but sometimes necessary.  Before I can find time to drive out of town to pick it up - it's on my door step! 

I do like going to local shops to find things you can't get anywhere else.  Estate Sales, Homegoods, and Target are my jam.  My rule is I have to know where I am going to use an object before I purchase it.  If I can't, then I cannot justify the purchase.  

I believe organization is key to a harmonious life.  I try to let go of unnecessary clutter by donating it to others, instead of it letting it go to waste not being used.  I constantly try to organize and reorganize spaces to better suit our needs.

I try to eat healthy and encourage my family to do so as well.  I have found with age, that I cannot tolerate certain high-allergen foods, processed foods, artificial sweeteners, and fragrances added to products.  These things can causes headaches and my immune system to weaken.  I try to find products and foods that will not have these things.

Sometimes you just have to get out of town.  Whether just for the day to a more local destination or jet-setting to another country, we try to enjoy God's beauty and other local and international cultures when we can.
